Feeling suicidal? Trying to find ways to suicide from Google search? You probably should think twice as Google began offering suicide prevention hotline information to people who were searching suicide-related terms.
Considering the fact that Google’s search engine is a frequent stop by many Internet users it makes sense that every once in awhile someone does a search for some troubling keywords. One of those is “suicide”.
The New York Times is reporting that Google now lists the toll-free number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at the top of related search results with the icon of a red phone next to it. The newspaper reports this is only the second time Google has provided such a special listing as it relates to keywords. Previously, Google took the same step with keywords related to finding poison control. At the top of related searches the National Poison Control Hotline is listed.
Simple message from Techdy Bear :
If you feeling suicidal now, please Google it and call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-8255).
