Here's something most of you don't know about iPad : Where did the scenery iPad's wallpaper came from?

You might want to know. The wallpaper used for iPad was from is a picture shot by Richard Misrach, an American photographer. You can wiki him here.

Titled "Pyramid Lake (at Night)", this image was snapped in 2004 by Misrach with an 8 x 10 large-format camera in twilight conditions. The streaks you see at the top are actually star trails, a common characteristic for long-exposure shots of the sky.

Misrach's deal with Apple for this picture is exclusive for five years. He said it's the first time in his career he's licensed one of his images for commercial usage. Interestingly, he wasn't informed that it was going to be used for the iPad since the agreement was reached before the tablet was unveiled in January.
