So by April 2011 we will be playing the DS2; or whatever Nintendo decide to call it.
Jesse Divnich, director of analyst service at EEDAR is the person making this claim stating:
Even though the Nintendo DS posted a record year in 2009, EEDAR expects Nintendo to make an official announcement on the DS2 within the next eight months. Many publishers including Sega, Capcom, and now Ubisoft have all expressed that they may be reducing their exposure to Nintendo’s consoles, which will likely lead to heavy declines in both hardware and software sales for the Nintendo DS.

If Divnich is correct then we should know about the DS2 by September and it’s likely Nintendo would launch in March for its home territory and then in the U.S. by summer.
So far we have only heard rumors about the DS2 with sources suggesting it will use Nvidia’s Tegra solution. If the demonstration of Tegra 2 running the Unreal engine at CES is anything to go by no gamers will be complaining about underperforming hardware.

I'm not sure this true or not. If it's true, then it's a great news for gamers especially Nintendo fans. One more thing, I'm not sure of what its name gonna be. Whether Nintendo 3D or Nintendo DS2? Either ways, it's still the same. Keep this in mind - everything can be changed in future.
