As part of the 75th anniversary of Hasbro’s Monopoly Brand celebration, a multi-platform of release of the upcoming 3D Monopoly Streets is scheduled to launch this fall, EA Play Label announced Thursday.
Players will have the opportunity to experience this classic board game as a fully dynamic, living, 3D world that continuously evolves with the video game action for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii.
Monopoly Streets will feature online multiplayer and unique downloadable content for the Xbox 360 and PS3 such as themed boards, characters, tokens, and avatar gear.
Chip Lange, General Manager and Senior Vice President of EA’s Hasbro Division, said in the press release:
“We’re taking Hasbro’s No. 1 family game brand and masterfully striking the balance of offering the classic Monopoly play experience and adding a spectacular new visual treatment as we bring the classic board to life with players walking the streets of Monopoly.”
This new twist on the classic Monopoly board game will also allow players to establish and save their own customized rules. Users can also play as their own Wii Mii or Xbox 360 Avatar in place of the original set pieces.A more classic version of Monopoly will be available for the Nintendo DS in conjunction with the 3D release.
